Before officially launching, it's a great idea to test your workflow to ensure the flow of the sequences works, the grammar is correct and you are happy with your finished onboarding experience! You should also check for image quality too!
You can use this same method to test out a new and improved workflow at any time.
It's important to remember to tick Test (as below) to not affect your workflows launched.
If you are testing with a second person, then one of you can play the Stakeholder (eg Direct Manager) and the other the employee. If you are testing by yourself use different channels such as email for the Manager and mobile for the employee, or some way of distinguishing between the two.
Launching a test
To begin your test, head to the Workflow tab, click on Launch Workflow and fill out the details. Put the start date sometime in the near future (if your workflow starts at -28 days, try setting the date about 3 weeks from now).
You may find one or two sequences trigger immediately, that's normal. Using the force "Send" option will allow you to test the remaining sequences on demand! (If you simply launch a workflow, Enboarder will automatically trigger one sequence per stakeholder, per hour until it's "up to date" with the start date you entered).
Triggering your content on-demand
Go to Reports, and you'll immediately see your Workflow Report.
Click the name you used to launch your test, taking you into the audit Timeline View below.
From the Timeline, you can send out the future sequences by clicking the name of the sequence, which will open a high-level breakdown of the content, and then clicking Send.
Once you click Send, you'll get a confirmation screen asking you to confirm the sending. Click on Send and you'll be underway!
Continue in this way until you have experienced the entire workflow!
If you have Bulk Process switched on this won't be recognized in Test mode and may cause issues with sending sequences. You'll know if you have this turned on from the Timeline view if the "B" icon is visible in the top right as below.
Note - Let your Customer Success Manager know when you have finished testing and they will be able to clear all of your test data out of your reporting. Cant wait? You can now delete your Test Workflow Data from within the Timeline/Activity Log!
