Table of Contents

Our Cornerstone integration allows you to seamlessly connect your learning platform with your employee journeys. This means you can automatically assign training, track completion, and manage everything in one place.

How It Works

Once connected, you can:

  1. 🔍 Search for employees in Cornerstone

  2. 📚 Assign training courses automatically

  3. 📊 Track training progress and completion

  4. 🔗 Share direct links to training content

Please ensure that you have connected integrated your Cornerstone account in Enboarder.

Integrating your Cornerstone account in Enboarder

The admin user in Enboarder who is integrating the tile should be a Systems Administrator in Cornerstone to set up the OAuth 2.0 app in Enboarder. This integration will be pulling the below objects:

  • Get all training catalogs

  • Get training detail

  • Get employee info

  • Assign the training

  • Get assigned training data

Register Oauth2 App in Cornerstone

  • Login to your Cornerstone portal.

  • Navigate to Admin > Tools > Edge > API Management.

On the Manage Oauth 2.0 Applications tab, click Register New Application.

  • Application Name Enter a name for your application (max 50 characters).

  • User ID Enter the User ID for an active user account in your Cornerstone portal. Please see Creating a User Account and Associating Security Permissions section if you want to create seperate user.

  • Access Token Validity Period Enter the period in seconds for which Cornerstone should issue access tokens for this application. The value should be a valid integer between 300 and 86,400. If no value is entered in this field, Cornerstone will issue access tokens that are valid for 3600 seconds (1 hour) by default.

  • Scopes Select the API endpoints and HTTP methods you would like your application to have access to. Please see below list for scopes required for this integration.

  • First select Cornerstone api and select the below scopes

  • learningassignment:read

  • learningassignment:create

  • skillsuniversal:read

  • task:read

  • training:read

  • transcript:read

  • employee:read

Please use a ServiceTechAdmin user id to ensure all permissions are set so that Enboarder is able to pull all data.

Click on Register Application to save your application and get a Client ID and a Client Secret. These will be used in the setup of the tile in Enboarder.

Be sure to copy the client secret. As a security best practice, it will be displayed only once. If you misplace the client secret, you will need to regenerate it.

Creating a User Account and Associating Security Permissions

You must associate each application with a user account. In order to create a user account and associate the required security permissions to the user account, switch back to your main Cornerstone page and follow these steps.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Tools > Core Functions > Users > Click 'Add User'. Enter the required details and hit 'Save'.

  2. Navigate to Admin > Tools > Core Functions > Security Role Administration > Click 'Create New Role' > Follow the three-step process and hit 'Save'. Each Cornerstone API requires specific permissions. Be sure to associate your role with the permissions for the APIs your application will need. Please refer to the documentation for your API in the API Explorer to get the list of security permissions.

  3. On the Security Role Administration page, search for the role you just created in step # 2.

  • Click on the 'Users' icon for your security role.

  • Click 'Add Users'.

  • In the 'Select Criteria' dropdown, select 'Users'. Click on the icon next to the dropdown.

  • In the resulting pop-up window, search for the user you created in step # 1.

  • In the search results, click the Add icon next to your user.

  • Click 'Done' and Click 'Save'.

Enboarder Tile Set up

  • Login as admin user and go to Settings → Apps & Integration → App center

  • Click on the tile Cornerstone LMS (or search if you can't see it) for which you want the integration setup.

Click into the tile, and click on Add Integration.

Please enter the below information:

  • Client ID

  • Client Secret

  • Once information is filled, please click on Add Integration. The system will validate the data and show the tile as Integrated

Add Courses to a Workflow

You can include training directly in your employee journeys.

How to add a course:

  1. Open your workflow

  2. Add a Content Module

  3. Select the “Learning Resources” widget

  4. Enter:

    • Course Name

    • Course ID

    • Course Link

    • Button Label

    • Button label - No course available

💡 The system will automatically handle assignment and tracking.

Note: "Button Label - No Course available" is a fallback button. If for whatever reason the course is not available to the employee, it will show this button instead.

Launch Workflow

When you've finished setting up the course and a have launched a workflow this is what it will look like to the employee:

Click the button and the employee should be able start the course.

If the course is not available, it will appear like this:

Note: You'll notice the button label is different. This is where the Button Label - No Course available field comes into play in the course settings.

Dashboard for courses

When you've added courses for your employees, keeping track of their progress would naturally be the next step. You can add a dashboard tile to keep track of the courses in Enboarder by selecting 'Course Activity Overview'

The dashboard will give you an overview of the progress of the courses taken
